What You'll Learn
During white belt week, you'll learn 5 foundational movements that are applicable not only to every day life, but also to other jiu jitsu techniques that you'll learn as you progress. You'll learn what the main objectives are when grappling, and all of the safety precautions to keep in mind. You'll also learn your first guard pass, sweep, and submission. Don't know what those words mean? You'll learn that too! Read more about jiu jitsu, or click the button below to reserve your spot.
What You'll Need
The course lasts 5 days, Monday-Friday. Each day you will need:
clean, athletic clothing, ideally without zippers or pockets
a pair of sandals to wear around the facility
a water bottle
The traditional kimono & belt uniform is called a "gi." The first 4 days of this course will be held in "no-gi" - that is, without the uniform, in tighter fit athletic clothing. This style is sometimes called "submission grappling." If you have a gi, you are welcome to bring it. Otherwise, we will provide a gi on the last day for you to practice in.
